A new member of the family

June 5, 2005 | General

Skip - the new member of our family Last weekend my parents got home from a hard day at work (they own a pet shop) and with them brought a new member of the family. We now have a pet dog.

He’s not the first dog we’ve had, and is far from the only pet we’ve got in the house. Currently there are 3 cats, 3 tortoises, 2 rabbits, and 3 aviaries full of various types of bird (budgie, cockatiel, quail and a few different types of parakeet). Now we’ve got Skip to add to the collection.

At the moment he’s a bit of a git, eating anything and everything, and basically ignoring everything you tell him to do or, more importantly, not to do. He’s a puppy though so we’ll let him off for now.

The cat’s aren’t too fond of him, two just about tolerate him (one of them fights back) but the youngest has hardly been in the house since Skip arrived. He is now fed in the conservatory/ outside so that we can stop the dog from getting at him whilst he’s eating.

Wow, I had no idea that you had so many pets.
Do you find it hard to work/program, with so many pets
    in the house?

Biomech - I’ve pretty much always lived around pets. No problems with working around them either. The only time there are problems is when the cat decides to sit on my keyboard.

    Martin - :)
