A stolen meme
June 2, 2005 | General
It was my birthday last month (April) and my parents bought me a very cool mp3 player. It has only been on sale since the 20th of May so this week it finally arrived.
I decided not to get an iPod because… well… everyone’s got one. So I asked for, what I thought, looked like a better option.
The Sony HD5 (the name isn’t as catchy as the iPods) has a replacable, rechargable battery that lasts up to 30 hours which is considerably longer than an iPod’s. It can also be used as a portable hard drive (don’t know if that’s possible with an iPod or not?) which is very handy.
Another cool thing is that that the remote control ear phones that I got with my portable cd player work with the mp3 player, so I don’t have to keep getting the thing out just to change track/ stop/ play/ anything.
Only played with it for about a week but I’m liking it. Not having to carry around lots of cd’s/ listen to the same cd repeatedly is very nice.
A musical baton
Having missed out on the musical baton that did the rounds recently I figured I would steal one from someone who didn’t specify recipients and do the meme anyway - I’m a couple of weeks late so it doesn’t really matter…
Total volume of music files on my computer
- 3.38Gb
- 515 files
The last CD I bought was
- “Disclaimer 2” by Seether
Song playing right now
- “Sucker Train Blues” by Velvet Revolver
Five songs I listen to a lot, or that mean a lot to me
- “Feeling Good” by Muse (and Nina Simone… but Muse version is better)
- “Don’t Cry” by Guns n’ Roses
- “Inside” by Stiltskin
- “The Show Must Go On” by Queen
- “Where is my mind” by the Pixies
Five people to whom I’m passing the baton
- I’m leaving this open. If anyone with a blog feels as left out as I did (
) then post a comment and I’ll send a baton your way.
There appears to be a book meme going round at the moment. Maybe this time someone will think of little old me and let me join in without having to resort to theft.

Not a Muse fan then Alex? I’d better keep you away from my MP3 player then. It’s loaded with the stuff
