I went to see Sin City yesterday. I’ve never been a fan of comic books or graphic novels but this looked really nice, and being a sucker for anything that tries to be different, had to give it a try.
The film is styled very closely to it’s source, pretty much everything is in black and white (mainly black) with the very occasional splash of vibrant colour. Apart from the actors and a few props pretty much everything in the film was made inside a computer and it turned out very nicely indeed. Robert Rodriguez, the director, has said that the film was a ‘translation rather than an adaptation’ of the original graphic novels by Frank Miller. The film was storyboarded using panels from the books and a number of the scenes match the

Last weekend my parents got home from a hard day at work (they own a pet shop) and with them brought a new member of the family. We now have a pet dog.
He’s not the first dog we’ve had, and is far from the only pet we’ve got in the house. Currently there are 3 cats, 3 tortoises, 2 rabbits, and 3 aviaries full of various types of bird (budgie, cockatiel, quail and a few different types of parakeet). Now we’ve got Skip to add to the collection.

It was my birthday last month (April) and my parents bought me a very cool mp3 player. It has only been on sale since the 20th of May so this week it finally arrived.
I decided not to get an iPod because… well… everyone’s got one. So I asked for, what I thought, looked like a better option.
The Sony HD5 (the name isn’t as catchy as the iPods) has a replacable, rechargable battery that lasts up to 30 hours which is considerably longer than an iPod’s. It can also be used as a portable hard drive (don’t know if that’s possible with an iPod or not?) which is very handy.
Another cool thing is that that the remote control ear phones that I got with my portable cd player work with the mp3 player, so I don’t have to keep getting the thing out just to change track/ …
