Explosions in London

July 7, 2005 | General

There have been a series of explosions in London, UK. Initially it was an explosion in one underground train station, but they kept on coming. There have so far been 5 explosions in underground stations and 3 on buses.

Because of these explosions the underground has been totally closed and overground trains aren’t being allowed into London any more.

At work we’re fairly close to Liverpool street station which was one of the stations that had the explosion. Thankfully everyone got to work ok with two people getting to work via Liverpool street, and two having to find another way into work because of the underground being shut.

Early reports say the underground problems are due to a power surge but, to me, it seems unlikely that this would all happen at the same time during the G8 summit. Things aren’t looking good, and I wouldn’t be surprised if the bombs continue throughout the day.

The BBC are updating their site as events unfold.

Glad to hear you’re safe. My heart goes out to anyone who was affected by this senseless act.
