I have been passed a book baton by Phu Ly from IfElse, who is one of the few people who comment here (thanks Phu
). I suspect he saw me complaining that no-one passed me the musical baton that did the rounds not too long ago and took pity on me.
I read a fair amount of books getting through three or four a month, but most of them are action adventure/ fantasy affairs. Nothing too heavy, and simple enough that I can read them on the train. Notice there are no tech books mentioned anywhere. I rarely read them since everything I need is online.
Number of books on the shelf
My book shelf is an entire stand, it’s not big but it’s rammed full and the shelves are groaning under the weight. I’ve even had to stack the books two deep because I have so many. There’s …

I bought my copy late Saturday morning, there were loads of copies available, and a rather miserable looking witch handing them out. I bought my copy in Bexleyheath, which is fairly close to where I live, and Alan Rickman was due to make an appearance and sign copies of the book. I couldn’t be bothered to wait around (he was already late when I decided to go home) but I must admit, having now read it, there are a few questions I would like to ask him.
Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince (HBP) was up to JK Rowlings usual standard. The story was incredibly easy to read (one of the reasons I finished it so quickly), and very well written.
Before we meet up with Harry (chapter 3) there are a couple of chapters that fill in gaps and refresh you on events …
Since the release of the flash player 8 beta there have been a few, very clever people, who have managed to convert some flash 7 projects to flash 8 and demo the new features.
I thought my Nan was cool (she’s a silver surfer, and is currently enjoying Bubble Game) but this Grandma is in another league!
