Fresh from starting his own cult (I know, I know... it's a collective...), Danny Wallace has decided to go one better and create his own country.
Inspire by the Principaility of SeaLand (photos of Sealand - it looks lovely) Danny set off on his quest. He started by looking to buy his own island in Ireland, but the current owner didn't like the idea of being paid in the, yet to be introduced, currency of the soon to be created country (I'll refer to it as Danny Land). He then attempted to invade an inhabited island on the Thames with the help of his friend, former Tesco's security guard, Jon Bond. The invasion was brought to an abrupt end when the police turned up.
Having decided that invasion wasn't the way forward Danny decided to turn land he already owned into a country, he has liberated his flat turning it into an, as yet unnamed (Danny Land?), country. Danny even got the Ordanace Survey people to map his country.
It'll be interesting to see where this goes, his cult sounded really good (you have to read the book to understand) and there is currently a film being made of another book he's written ('Yes Man' - the story of a man who says Yes to everything).
Personally I think he's a bit of a nut job, but it makes me smile so I hope he keeps going.
Rocket Boards is a super fast 3D rocket boarding action. My first "commercial" (shareware) product. Didn't do amazingly well but was a good learning experience
Bubble Bomb is a polished update of a game originally built by Warren Marshal (who works at Epic games - developers of Unreal and Gears of War)
My own update of Bubble Bomb, Bubble Blitz was almost a total rewrite adding loads of new features and a shiny new look.
Seths Puzzle Boxes is a puzzle game with a surprisingly enjoyable story line, unfortunately it's quite short so won't take long to complete, but while it lasts is great fun.
your country is above a flat, witch is english so what is the block of flats burns down or collapses your country will as well!!!! you need your own land that dosnt have any thing on it
Technically it's not my country, but I see your point. They appear to have a whole stack of embassys so if the unthinkable should happen I'm sure they could relocate whilst the problem is sorted out.

Erm - I think you may have some wires crossed somewhere. My name is Ben, I found the tv program amusing but it wasn't me who created my own country. The links in the post above explain who did create their country (hint - his name's Danny) and how he went about it. I'd recommend using his forum or something since there is much more information there.

i think this is a great idea coz if this country was big enough for us all to live in i'd say people would be alot nicer to each other and have a bit more fun!!!!!!!

Danny you have had the courage to take the steps many of us just mused about. As a descendant of a Viking beserker (now dead) I would like to volunteer for your army. OK I live in Australia which makes it awkward but that sort of detail hasn't deterred you and I take inspiration from your example. Is it actually possible to declare your own property as a new soverign country? If I thought I could get away with it I would, but I fear it would be deemed a terrorist act and I would end up being bombed. That said, the bomb would probably miss and hit a hospital and then I'd feel responsible. I hear you can pick up a SAM launcher for a few grand in Russia...........
Well Danny you've got your own country, I want to do the same but how do I go about doing it, this country called Britain is crap and were getting ripped off for evrything and everything we say or do is watched by big brother or the government as its known.
