9rules - here I come

December 21, 2005 | General

9rules logoWell, towards the end of last month, the 9rules team had a round of submissions to join their network. I submitted Binary Moon, never really expecting to get in, and on the first of December got an email from Paul, the head honcho, asking if I wanted to join.

I said yes.

Why did I join? Not sure really. Obviously there was the traffic aspect, there’s no point blogging if no-one reads what you’re saying, and I recently found out you get an Aston Martin and gold plated iPod when you join (mines in the post - right Paul?).

9rules

I know a lot of my current readers don’t have a clue about the 9rules so here’s a little background info. The 9rules is a blogging collective - a group of blogs & bloggers that are about many varied topics, connected only by their love of publishing on the web. From the about page…

The 9rules Network is about building a community of high quality websites as well as a community of highly discerning readers. Content is king and looking good helps.

The network is here for both experienced writers and bloggers, for newer authors trying to gain a foothold, and for the millions of readers who flock to sites in our network everyday. Site authors can join the network and boost their audience, newer authors can get some help from more experienced members, and web users now have a place to find great content on the web. 9rules is for everyone.

Me

A little information for those who don’t know me. I’m a 25 year old web and game developer from London, England. I work at Miniclip.com (some examples of what I do) and on the side I run my own shareware games site, Binary Sun. I like video games, movies, reading, and any other form of entertainment that doesn’t require physical activity - these are what I tend to talk about here, on Binary Moon.

Others

A few of the 9rules members websites I read at least a couple of times a week:

Thanks

That’s all, normal posting will resume shortly…

I’ve already said this to you in private but I’ll say it again. It’s good to have you on board! Quality content and quality design… how can you go wrong? :)

BTW, you should also pop into the member forums as well when you get the chance.

Thanks Phu - I’ll be heading over to the forums as soon as my account is validated. Paul seems to be on a role today so I’ll wait until he’s finished adding sites before I say anything.

I’m also having problems viewing 9rules from home and am currently on a three week break from work - I’ll definately join in when I get a chance though.

Cool site!! Yeah, the Aston Martin is great but the iPod with gold plating scratches really easily so if you can switch out for titanium or platinum I’d suggest it.

Welcome to the network Ben. Very nice site you have here btw.

Oh and about the Aston Martin. I guess Paul neglected to tell you that they are all gone and you will be receiving a Ford Fiesta instead. Sorry bout that ;-)

Chris - Thanks for the warning, I’ll keep it in mind.

    Shawn - A Ford Fiesta… that’s still a step up from my bicycle so it’ll do :)

Welcome to the group, Ben. Don’t let the initiation ritual scare you… most of us survived ; )
