Acclaim offers publishing rights to their back catalogue

December 6, 2005 | Video Games

Since Acclaim have now officially been announced bankrupt there is a bankruptcy auction to sell off all of the publishing rights to their games.

I’m not sure what the publishing rights entails, or how much money there is in them, but they all seem to be going pretty cheaply and there are a few cool games in there (Extreme G, Burnout, Smash TV)

Does Acclaim own the rights to the Classics Illustrated Comics series started in the late 1940’s?

I haven’t got the foggiest. I’m under the impression that all you are buying is the rights to distribute the games. Nothing to do with the actual licenses, so you have no rights to create sequels or anything like that.
