Regulus 2.0

December 11, 2005 | Regulus

Regulus has been far more popular than I ever imagined it would be. So popular, in fact, that I have already created version 2.0

Changes

Version 2.0 has been created specifically for Wordpress version 2.0 (hence the name change) and features a number of new features. From the outside it looks the same, with the exception of the 4 new header images and the extra colour scheme, but underneath it uses the new theme system built directly into wordpress 2.0

The Ultimate Man Cave Couch

December 8, 2005 | Links

Like your creature comforts? Always fancied a Lazy Boy armchair? Got $30000 burning a hole in your pocket? Why not get the Ultimate Man Cave Couch

Ok - I’m not actually sure if it’s for sale or not, but Dominos (the pizza dudes) are claiming that’s how much it’s worth.

Don’t worry though, you get plenty for your money!

The best thing though, you can actually win it. You have to pay $5000 shipping, and it’s probably only for US people but still, you’d never have to leave the house again.

I’m not sure what the publishing rights entails, or how much money there is in them, but they all seem to be going pretty cheaply and there are a few cool games in there (Extreme G, Burnout, Smash TV)

King Kong - Woahh

December 4, 2005 | Video Games

This weekend, I bought, played, and completed the new King Kong videogame.

It rocked!

As with all Ubisoft games it’s visually stunning - I went for the GameCube version and it has to be one of the prettiest games on the console. The water and fire effects in particular are very cool.

In gameplay terms it doesn’t disappoint either. The game is primarily played through the eyes of Jack Driscol, with the occasional Kong based encounter. The gameplay mechanics are very simple, there is a small selection of weapons, and a limited amount of interactivity within the environment, but these have been combined in clever ways. Broken down the game is basically kill the dinosaurs and find the key to open the door, but it’s done in a way that rarely frustrates. Ammunition is hard to come by and you can only carry a single gun at a time, but there …
