Research has been done by some clever people that proves that users can base their opinions of a website on their immediate first impressions.
Researchers found that the brain makes decisions in just a twentieth of a second of viewing a webpage.
They were surprised as they believed it would take at least 10 times longer to form an opinion.
Ever wondered what would happen if everyone… ever… got into a fight, and who the champion would be? Well now you can find out. I should warn you that this is a flash animation and it contains much gratuitios cartoon violence.
If, like me, you have recently become a fan of Lemon Demon (like in the last 5 m inutes), the one man band who performs ‘The Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny’, you can visit his site, or download his music.
Oh… and it features Chuck Norris too!

Well - I got a little behind with my dev diary. First Regulus became rather more popular than I expected, and then EbayEd sunk without a trace (FWIW I never expected it to be popular - it IS rather limited in appeal), I got accepted into the 9rules collective, and then there was Christmas. Now all that’s out of the way I can get back to making games.
Hoorah!
Story
Part of the design doc demo I downloaded says to explain the environment and characters but I’m not entirely sure what they will be. Since the design document is a guide rather than a rule book I am going to explain what I have in my head - I can always edit it later as things become clearer.
To work out the environment and character designs I should really work out a story. I know how the game will flow …
The world has been a bit light on Hasselhoff news recently, but today I found out he has filed for divorce from his wife, Pamela Bach
The actor’s publicist announced Thursday that Hasselhoff has filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences.
On a happier note I also found an awful a brilliant Hasselhoff video today. Before you click on the link, you should beware that he sings in this - but that’s not the best bit.
If, for some reason, you actually like Davids music, then you’ll be pleased to hear he has recently recorded a new song, a cover of the Ted Mulry Gang Oz Rock Classic ‘Jump In My Car’.
An amusing article from the ever great Wired (I still love that design - despite it being three years old).
Anyway - the review is an ironic look at the possible state of video games in the future.
Sony and Nintendo continue their fight for the minds and backpacks of the nation’s gamers by releasing ever-larger portable consoles. The Nintendo XL features six screens, a folding seat and a selection of overpriced candy bars, while the PlayStation Still Ostensibly Portable can now play all known forms of media, including 2-ton cuneiform tablets.
Save energy with your computer [via]
I’m not a cardigan wearing hippy who lives in a farm with a hundred other cardigan wearing hippies, and I don’t grow all my own food in my back garden, and I don’t only use electricity created via renewable energy sources, but if I can do something simple like this to save a little bit of the world, I think that’s great.
There is also a similar products for us Brits - which even includes a surge protector. Something that would have been very handy a few months ago when our modem got fried in a storm…
