I have spent a bit of time working on Regulus this week.
Today the Wordpress Widgets plugin was announced. They have been available on wordpress.com for a while and I spoke to Andy from wordpress.com earlier this week and have had the plugin working in the theme since Tuesday. It just needs a few tweaks and I will release it all into the wild.
The widgets aren’t the only new feature, with one thing in particular that a lot of people have been asking for.
If you like your wordpress themes then stay tuned
I have watched a fair few fan films, generally from theforce.net (which appears to be down at the moment). With the exception of a couple of Star Wars ones they’re generally pretty rubbish. Today I found out about a new fan film based on Zelda. The trailer is really rather good, especially considering the total lack of budget. Watch out for the slightly dodgy wigs, and special effects, but otherwise it looks very promising. Here’s hoping there is no speech though, that would most definitely ruin everything.
I thought I would try out the youtube (I quite like youtube) stuff so have included the movie below. If you want to keep the movie for you can download a copy on the site linked above
I have mentioned this before, but feel it is important enough to keep repeating
Unfortunately the article linked to in the last post has been turned into a pay to view thing, which even the glorious bugmenot can’t sort out, but this new article from Yahoo! talks about things from a slightly different perspective.
The study cataloged research papers and media stories about cognitive exercise. According to the report, research indicates that people who maintain “healthy cognitive loads” like playing chess, doing crosswords and other activities appear to have lower rates of dementia, Alzheimer’s Disease and other cognitive problems. It’s not just about working your mind, though — it’s equally important to remain physically active and engage in social activity, according to the research.
This is interesting to me partly because my Grandfather had Alzheimers, so I am very aware of the effects this can have on people and …

Not much to say about this, apart from the fact that it’s one of the bestest Lego models I have ever seen (and I’ve been to Legoland).
The models at Legoland are really nice, but they are also really big, things like this that have such insane amounts of detail whilst keeping everything to the traditional Lego scale (the little yellow Lego men can sit in the planes) are what I love.
A quick disclaimer: I have nothing to do with this wonderful Lego creation. It’s simply a model I thought was cool so linked too. I can’t help with any questions about the model. Sorry
I really like the fact that they built the inside and everything, it’s absolutely stunning.

Filled with names like Flickr, and Meebo web 2.0 has become very well known for it’s unusual names - much like Star Wars.
Anyway now, I assume to show how ridiculous these names are, there is a web 2.0 names quiz (web 2.0 or Star Wars character).
For what it’s worth I scored 38/43, largely because of my knowledge of Star Wars rather than my knowledge of web 2.0 companies.

The title may be a bit misleading but Gizmodo are reporting on a new dart which contains a camera which can be used in much the same way the spy cam can in the ever so popular Splinter Cell games.
