Ok - technically I’m not up for a Webby but the company I work for, Miniclip, is up for an award.
We’re clearly the best company in the games category so head on over there and show your support
We won the peoples voice last year but there wasn’t much competition, this year we’re up against Star Wars Galaxies and Disney’s Toon Town, both very big companies with a lot of dedicated users.
Eric Chahi, best known for his 1991 video game Another World, is back with a new game… Another World!
Tomorrow (the 14th of April) Another World is going to be re-released on his website AnotherWorld.fr. I don’t speak much French so don’t really understand what is going on. Essentially the game has been updated for a windows based computer, with new graphics (the graphics in the old version were truly amazing, especially considering the technical limitations of the time).
In some ways this interests me, as I’ve only ever played Another World on an emulator, but in other ways I’m rather underwhelmed. I would have thought most of the charm of the (original) game lies in the atmosphere it created using the technology of the time, the fact it’s been updated in such a limited way, knowing my pc is capable of so much more, leaves me feeling a …
April 11, 2006 | Regulus
It’s been a while since I updated Regulus but with the recent release of widgets I had to do something.
The success of Regulus has gone beyond my wildest expectations, and I really appreciate all the support and feedback I have been given.

Apparently the May issue of Game Informer magazine has a whole stack of information about the upcoming console, the Nintendo Revolution (they still haven’t told us the REAL name). Anyway amongst this info is a preview of Ubisofts first game for the console, Red Steel. Being a big Nintendo fan and a big Ubisoft fan I can’t help but feel a little excited by these images. Yes they’re dodgy scans from a magazine but they look very cool.
The game revolves around a sword and gun toting cop, and is played from a first person (ala Quake) point of view.
You can see the screenshots in various places around the web.
I don’t know what everyone else thinks but hopefully this will shut up the people who complain about the revolution being underpowered. It never stopped the Playstation 2 …
Bob Ross isn’t very big in England. In fact I only heard about him recently from a (Swedish of all things) friend of mine.
From wikipedia:
[Bob Ross] was the host of The Joy of Painting, perhaps the most recognized, most watched art program in the history of U.S. television.
The thing that interests me though is that recently it was announced that there would be some Bob Ross video games coming to the PC and new Nintendo consoles. The unique interface of the Nintendo Revolution and Nintendo DS would be ideally suited to a painting based video game I’d be very interested to see how they turn this into something fun.

Serenity
Serenity is a spin off movie from the cult tv show Firefly. The show only lasted one series, and I haven’t seen a single episode, however the producer, Joss Whedon, also worked on Buffy the Vampire Slayer one of the best TV shows ever - so Serenity was always going to be interesting. I quite enjoyed it, but there were clearly things going on that would only make sense if you’ve seen the original show. I’m certainly interested in seeing the tv series now.
Taxi
I’m not sure I should admit to seeing this, but I haven’t seen all that many new films this month so needed something to bulk it out. I am a huge fan of the original Luc Besson Taxi films, of which this is a remake. This version is definitely inferior to the original but the bad reviews it got wasn’t …
