I keep finding links to things that interest me but aren’t worthy of a post for themselves. Normally I would post them as links but there are so many of the things at the moment that I thought I would do a single post with them all in so here we go…
A couple of weeks ago I was taken to New York for the 10th annual Webby Awards. Miniclip, the company I work for, had won the peoples voice award for gaming and the boss was kind enough to invite me (and a couple of others) along to the ceremony (thanks a lot Rob).
We flew over on the Saturday, spent the Sunday lazing around in New York (lots of time in Central Park), did a bit of businessy stuff Monday morning, then had the show Monday evening.
Lots of photos were taken on the trip, unfortunately most of mine were a bit rubbish, but I have included some of the nicer ones below. Thanks to Nic for the picture that includes me (do you like …

Think what he’s given to the world. Knight Rider. Baywatch. The reunification of East and West Germany. Untold laughter from forwarded e-mails of him in hotpants.
He’s given a lot. It’s time we gave something back.
The Hoff’s having a hard time. He’s split from his wife. He needs a lift.
Let’s help him out with something that would mean the world to him. Something that would repay all the goodness he’s given us over the years. A glittering prize that thus far eludes him.
A top spot in the UK music charts.
Let’s get Hoff to Number One.
Sign up to help him on his way - you know you want too.

It’s a bit late now but a couple of weekends ago my girlfriend and I went to see a new Brit flick, Confetti, at the cinema.
Like Spinal Tap and, more recently, The Office - Confetti (FWIW Tim, Martin Freeman, from the Office is one of the leads) is a mocumentary (Mock Documentary).
The film follows three couples as they attempt to win a magazine competition for the most unusual wedding. The movie starts as the couple are being picked, and follows them through the preparation onto the wedding itself. The best wedding gets to win a house worth lot’s of money.
Some of you, Brits especially, will at least recognise members of the cast, even if you don’t know their names. The best known (in my mind) being the previously mentioned Martin Freeman, and Jimmy Carr. However the stars of the show are the wedding planners
Apparently …

Star Wars - Clone Wars - Series 2
Not the movie but the cartoon series. Saw the first series a while ago and, whilst I thought it was ok, wasn’t overly impressed. The main problem was a lack of narrative - each 5 minute cartoon was self contained. This is a problem the second series doesn’t have and it’s much better because of it. The stories all combine together to make a single uninterrupted episode (shown as a movie on the dvd). They show the development of Anakin and help explain his desent to the dark side, with the series ending as Anakin and Obi-Wan Kenobi enter into the battle that starts the third film. Well worth a look.
Corpse Bride
An animated movie created by Tim Burton. The film uses stop motion animation to bring a rather dreary world to life. I had seen the …
