I have been rather late jumping on the Firefly and Serenity band wagon. I first saw Serenity a while ago and wasn’t overly impressed. I wasn’t disappointed by any means, but I just didn’t “get it”. I’m guessing the reason was that I hadn’t seen any of the tv shows.
I have now.
Firefly
Recently I bought the Firefly tv series and watched all 14 episodes in the space of 3 days. It rocks. Just in case you missed that… FIREFLY ROCKS HARD.
The show is just wonderful. The stories are brilliantly written, the cast amusing and likeable. There are very obvious Joss Wedon influences (he is the creator & director after all) but at the same time it’s unlike any show you have ever seen, ever.
The series finishing where it did, with so many plot elements open, is not a very good …
Bryan Veloso of Avalonstar fame, who now works at Automattic, is redesigning the Wordpress administration interface and is asking for your feedback. Each week he will be asking for feedback on a different part of the control panel.
This week I’d like opinions on the post page. Obviously this is where most of your time is spent when using the WordPress system, so it is my top priority. From our point of view, if we can make this one page easier to use, then people would probably post more often.
So, if you use Wordpress, why don’t you head on over and give your opinion?

From Paul Robertson who created the amazing Pirate Baby’s Cabana Battle Street Fight 2006 comes this wonderful new animation. This time a music video for a song by Architecture in Helsinki (never heard of them before) the animation is just as amazing as you’d expect.
I’m loving the pixellated goodness.

It had a few amusing bits, the best involving feeding the ducks (I didn’t know it was that dangerous!).
A History of Violence

Like most Cronenburg films the violence is brutal and shocking and is in no way done for the fun of it. Viggo Mortensen is …

Watch out - abstract nudity ahead.
Playboy have made a rather… um… unique advert to celebrate 31 years in the naked lady business. Rather than post it here (don’t want to embarrass anyone) you can view it at the website that I first saw it on - Ads of the World.
Design Asides is reporting on a new advertising campaign in Holland simply called “Advertising”.
The Sandberg Institute in Amsterdam is emulating the Million Dollar Homepage on a grander scale and selling off “pixels” on their façade. Called Artvertising, the project has already attracted the likes of Nike and Philips.
