I'm sure most people know about this but the ability to post things in advance with Wordpress is absolutely great. My two blogs (this one and Binary Joy) posted 16 articles whilst I was on holiday despite me not being there.
To post in the future all you have to do is:
- write your post as normal
- find the Post Timestamp panel
- edit the time and tick the Edit timestamp box
- Publish
There you have it. Easy!
Why use this?
Apart from the obvious things, like going on holiday, I find that I often get into a blogging "mood". I will feel like blogging and then do many posts, so rather than have them all go out at once, and then nothing for a week or two, I will make a series of posts and let them dribble out over the week or two gap. This means I can forget about my site and let it continue to update itself.

It's a feature worth sharing. When I posted on this a comment was left pointing out that WordPress.com users may end up revealing posts prior to the date intended... a caveat also worth sharing. I used this trick on my self-install WP installation to schedule a weekly post for 5 consecutive weeks—and had no issues.
I've been using this technique for a while now. It's very useful. I too get in a "blogging mood" often, and at other times I feel like not blogging at all.
This sounds like it should be coined the "Bush" feature.
As Stephen Colbert said at the White House Correspondents Dinner earlier this year: "The greatest thing about this man is he's steady. You know where he stands. He believes the same thing Wednesday that he believed on Monday, no matter what happened Tuesday."

Ease to use technique, well explained, thx:)
Sure I know about it from the start (when I first installed WordPress) but other may not know it;-)
Nice design, btw, nice blog, too:)
A simple but effective technique. Unfortunately I never seem to find the time to write the articles in the first place let alone line them up!
I like that idea of a blogging mood. I've just nailed 5 juicy posts in four hours, sometimes I have 4 week gaps!
