Just a quick heads up to let anyone interested know that I am now running text-link-ads on Binary Sun, and have feedvertising (text-link-ads in rss feeds) added to both this site (Binary Moon) and Binary Joy.
I have also (finally) added the text-link-ads on Binary Joy to the homepage which I think improves the offering as previously they could only be found on the interior pages of the site.
If you fancy advertising on any of my sites, or getting text-link-ads on your own site, then you can sign up with text-link-ads now.
Recently I have been letting things slip with Binary Moon so, now that the new year is out of the way, I hope to start posting more regularly again.

The latest issue of .Net magazine is published today, and in it is an article written by me, about Miniclip.com.
It was actually a task that was thrust upon me after my return from Malaysia, however I enjoy this sort of thing so was happy to give it a go.
The article ended up being a short piece on the history of web animation, along with an even shorter tutorial giving a brief run-down of how we create our homepage animations.
All in all I think it turned out pretty well, it’s certainly nice to see my name in print
Normally I would say something like “and I recommend you all rush out and get a copy”, but since I am only on one page, and I gain nothing from you buying it, I won’t. I still think it’s cool though!
Urban Fonts is a free font download site and they recently tasked me with writing a (paid) review for them.
When it comes to fonts I already have a favourite website which I normally use for my own font finding needs . It has everything I need, vast amounts of free fonts to download, the ability to preview fonts, including changing the font preview text. Vast numbers of categories and a decent search engine to speed things up. I didn’t think anything would replace it… now I’m not so sure.
Urban Fonts has everything my favourite site has, along with a bunch of other stuff. Urban Fonts includes tags, for sorting the fonts, has a blog with articles about fonts and typography (articles that are actually useful/ interesting).
In terms of looking for fonts everything you need is there. The previews of the fonts are great - if you mouse …

Just so you know the offer has now ended. Also I have nothing to do with the promotion and can’t do anything if you got caught out.
Yo! Sushi are offering 50% off between the 15th and the 31st of January with this voucher. I know at least 1 person who will be very excited to see this offer - maybe I will get to go again some time soon as well… I haven’t been in ages.
Thanks to Phu for the heads up
Apparently this is quite old but I have never seen it before and thought it was rather cool so here it is anyway. Technically the basic stuff wouldn’t be that hard to do, but boy would you need a big living room to play this. This really takes Eye Toy and the Wii to the next level!
Kick Ass Kung-Fu is an immersive game installation that transforms computer gaming into a visual, physical performance like dance or sports. You can fight and defy gravity like kung-fu movie actors - only there’s no wires or post-production needed, thanks to the real-time embodied interaction and virtual set technology.
You can read more on the official Kick Ass Kung-Fu website.

I’m a lucky person. Last year work took me to Estonia for our Christmas do. This year it was Istanbul, Turkey.
Unfortunately I have been really busy these last few weeks so this post is a little delayed.
We had a couple of great guides in the form of a colleague (and all round great bloke) and his wife - Thorsten, and Nilli; and I want to say how much I enjoyed my stay out there and how grateful I am that they showed us around. It wouldn’t have been as good without them!
We spent the weekend touring Istanbul and got a general feel for the different aspects of the city. We had a lot of wonderful meals (the Turkish REALLY like to eat) and even a drink or two. We went to a club (or three) and saw live Salsa music, went on a boat trip along the
