GameGum - Flash gaming site review

I haven’t done any reviews in a while, then today I got asked to do one for GameGum a Flash gaming website (this is a paid review). It’s nice to get some games related reviews to do so I had to say yes.

Competition

Currently GameGum are running a referral contest in which you can potentially win $100 and 1000 GameGum points (more on those in a bit) - with a total of $250 worth of prizes. I am now wondering if I could win the contest by getting people to sign up. I guess I’ll find out in a couple of weeks :)

Text Link Ads - post level adverts

Today Text-Link-Ads launched their post level ads service. What this service does is let advertisers purchase adverts that get added to the end of specific posts on your site. These adverts last a month, and contain a link and description to their site.

I think these ads seem like a really good way to both monetise and advertise. The adverts can be placed on 100% relevant pages, and getting a description as well is the icing on the cake.

I do have a problem with how the posts are being ranked though. My most popular pages, the ones with over 250 comments, are being sold for $8 a month. So if anyone fancies advertising on a Harry Potter, or Wordpress theme, based page you should grab them before they fix things.
