In the UK Ratatouille is coming out this week (Friday 12th to be precise). I got to see a preview screening of it a couple of months ago and loved every moment (read my review here). I highly recommend everyone go and see it (and suspect I may go again).

One thing that has changed, and I can't decide if this is good or not, is that the voice of the restaurant critic has been changed to that of Jamie Oliver. I have nothing against Jamie, he seems like a really nice bloke... but that's what I think is wrong with him playing this, rather dark, part. I can understand why they did it but I wonder whether it will ruin the effect for me. I wouldn't worry too much though, the critic doesn't have a huge amount to say and only really shows up towards the end - and it doesn't change the fact that the movie is both artistically and technically amazing.

Have you seen the anti-piracy adverts using Ratatouille? It totally wrecked the hype for me as I just despise anti-piracy adverts in cinemas. They didn't really make sense to me!
I've nothing against Jamie Oliver either but I probably won't take anything with his voice seriously.
I don't remember seeing any anti piracy ads - no. When I saw it there were no trailers. FWIW I'm not a fan of anti piracy stuff either... especially when the people who are forced to watch them have just purchased the dvd/ cinema ticket that has the ad on it.
Exactly my problem with them as well.
They've been using these Ratatouille ones before most of the films I've seen over the last two weeks, maybe it's just my cinema though.
The piracy ads were a joke - I've never seen a pirate movie that was as bad quality as they were showing
Can't say I noticed the fat-tongued gimp - what part was he doing again?
I enjoyed the film, but thought it was almost a little too adult - more in pacing than anything else. Although my boys enjoyed, they were getting a bit restless at times, unlike during other Pixar movies.
I was talking to a friend about this yesterday actually - he saw the film the other day and didn't notice Jamie Oliver either - apparently he plays the food inspector (not critic as I said above).
I agree that it's a little adult at times... but thankfully I don't have any young 'uns to get bored whilst watching this sort of thing
Aah, right.
I think they'll probably enjoy it more on a second showing when the DVD comes out.
Funny really, if I had to choose I'd say Flushed Away was the better of the two films yet that went 'down the pan' (sorry).
I haven't seen Flushed Away - will have to check it out some time though - I'm a fan of Aardman and their stuff is normally pretty good.
