A quick way to speed up your website

Getting a faster internet is great - it gives us loads of opportunity to improve the browsing experience through more advanced javascript and designs - I still remember the dreadful websites of the late 90’s that took an hour to download and only showed a few random pieces of text on a bright pink (or yellow/ green) background.

Unfortunately not everyone is lucky enough to have the latest technology and with mobile internet becoming more and more popular it’s still a very good idea to try to optimise site download time.

Optimising javascript and css is a simple way to speed up the loading of your site. However with more and more frameworks being created and projects growing in scope it’s getting harder and harder to manage these things. Tales of Beedle the Bard - new from JK Rowling

It’s been a while since I’ve mentioned anything remotely Harry Potter related and had almost forgotten about the new book until I noticed it had been released last week - The Tales of Beedle the Bard.

The Tales of Beedle the Bard is the latest book from JK Rowling. It’s actually a collection of short stories that are written in the world of Harry Potter - in fact it’s the “real” stories that Hermione is given by Dumbledore in the final book in the Harry Potter series. The book is written as if Hermione translated it from the original texts - with notes after each story written by Dumbledore (before his death).

The stories themselves are relatively simple tales generally with some sort of ethical or moral meaning. The bit I found most interesting though was Dumbledores analysis after each story. I like the way he delved into the history …
