Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
This is rather late now but I really wanted to say something. I mentioned before that I had seen the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film (actually called TMNT) and I'm pleased to say it was absolutely great.
I went to see the film on a weekday, and it was mostly younger children in the audience. I went with my girlfriend who very kindly puts up with my childish tendencies. ...
300 + Paulo = Xerxes?
I went to see 300 at the Imax cinema in London recently and it is one of the best films I have seen in a long time. I like powerful films and, whilst the story was a little thin, this film was VERY powerful.
Nobody goes to see a film like 300 for the story, but what there was of it was done more than well enough. For those who aren't aware (and I'm late to ...
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) movie – competition
I was recently contacted by a very nice lady at Warner Bros. asking whether I would like to run a competition to promote a film. Normally I just ignore this sort of thing but (not that it happens very often!) but being that it's for the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, I just had to say yes.
Like 300 (also from Warner Brothers) I have been excited ...
Hot Fuzz
I went to see the new British comedy, Hot Fuzz, the other day - and it was absolutely great.
I haven't seen Shaun of the Dead, despite hearing that it's really rather good, but that didn't stop me from wanting to see this film. From what I have heard the humor and the style of the two films are fairly similar and having now seen Hot Fuzz I think I will ...
Eragon – all pervasive
I read the first two Eragon books recently, the third and final is currently being written. My timing seems to have been quite good because as I was reading the second book, I found out that there was a film being made... and then there are the inevitable video games. Now on the company I work at are running ads for Eragon on our website. It's everywhere!
The youth of Christopher Paolini, the author, and the success it has achieved ...
Movie Roundup – August 06
The Transporter 2Shorter than the first movie, the Transporter 2 has is a very simple movie, and seems to have been made simply to look good. The bad guys all seemed a bit old but Jason Statham was suitably cool looking in the fights. Certainly one of the better martial artists in movies... at least of ones who aren't Asian. Highly enjoyable and, unlike a lot of films, could have quite easily been 15 - ...
Firefly and Serenity
I have been rather late jumping on the Firefly and Serenity band wagon. I first saw Serenity a while ago and wasn't overly impressed. I wasn't disappointed by any means, but I just didn't "get it". I'm guessing the reason was that I hadn't seen any of the tv shows.
I have now.
FireflyRecently I bought the Firefly tv series and watched all 14 episodes in the ...
Movie Roundup – July 06
About a BoyA mildly amusing comedy with Hugh Grant, Rachel Weisz, and a few people I have never heard of. It was a lot better than I expected, Hugh Grant plays the same character he always plays and makes a fool of himself more than once. It had a few amusing bits, the best involving feeding the ducks (I didn't know it was that dangerous!).
