New Xbox 360 – Just For Games?
Not entirely sure how this happened but I was recently invited to be an Xbox 360 ambassador. What does this mean? Well I have been asked to write a couple of blog posts and post some tweets about Xbox. The reason for becoming an ambassador is to promote the new Xbox 360 dashboard functionality that turns your Xbox from a pure games console, into a full blown media hub. New Dashboard When you first load the new dashboard the first [...]
Inception – Awesome New Movie Trailer
Just seen the latest trailer for Christopher Nolans next film, Inception. It looks absolutely awesome. I've liked so many of his films, it's great to see his creativity continue. The film seems to have influences from all over and still be something totally new. The things you can do with computers these days are amazing, it seems there's no limit to the imagination - and this film seems to do some crazy stuff without it looking cheesey or ridiculous. In [...]
Prince of Persia – Sands of Time Trailer
Another film I am looking forward to. A lot. The Prince of Persia, Sands of Time, is an awesome video game. The beauty and simplicity of the game makes it a joy both to watch and to play. It's one of the few series where I have played and completed every single one of the games - so naturally I am interested in the new film. It doesn't look very Disney like, but after Pirates of the Caribbean, I guess [...]
Ninja Assassin – new from the Wachowskis
Not sure how I missed this. The Wachowskis are working on a new movie called Ninja Assassin, and being a big fan of both martial arts and the Wachowskis movies (I've loved ALL their films apart from Speed Racer, which I have yet to see, and will probably love). Trailer The trailer is relatively recent and seems to show a rather stylish martial arts flick that is bound to showcase the Wachowskis penchant for over the top action and stylish, [...]
District 9 trailer – new movie from Peter Jackson and Neill Blomkamp
District 9 is an upcoming science fiction movie produced by Peter Jackson and directed by Neill Blomkamp. Originally Jackson and Blomkamp - who were originally paired for the movie adaptation of the HALO video game series. HALO has been put on hold for the time being but it looks like District 9 will tide me over nicely. The film is set for an August 14, 2009 release date. District 9 is based on Alive in Joburg (included below), a short [...]
Up
Pixar really do rock - everything they make is just genius. I saw the trailer for their up coming movie, Up, when I saw Bolt a couple of weeks ago - and have just stumbled upon a longer version so thought I'd post it.
A’capella
Someone Twittered a link to an A'capella Star Wars tribute today and I thought it was very cool so have posted it below. The video is of one man singing some random lyrics about Star Wars to the tunes of various John Williams movie scores. You can read the lyrics and a little information about the song here. Showing someone at work the video he then mentioned an a'capella version of Michael Jacksons Thriller made by one man, François Macré. [...]
Ascension
Ascension is a rather amusing short film from Australia. I actually bookmarked the link from JazJaz a while ago but have only just gotten around to watching the thing. Very nicely done with a few genuine laugh out loud moments.
Wall-E + Lego = Awesome
I love Wall-E, and I love Lego (in paticular Robot Lego) so seeing Wall-E recreated in Lego was music to my senses. I should probably point out that this was not made by me, and is not available for sale (which is a shame - I'd buy it!). It was actually built by Bazmarc from the Trossen Robotics Community Forums. It made my day!
Sumo Omni Bean Bag at Miniclip
I mentioned the awesome Sumo Omni bean bags the other day and, when talking to Andrew from Sumo, mentioned I work at Miniclip... and now they've sent us some free Sumo bean bags to decorate the office as well! You can see the photos on the Sumo gallery.
A short history of Miniclip.com
Rob, my boss and CEO of Miniclip.com, was recently interviewed by the Financial Times in the UK - and they put a video of the interview online for all to see. I'd have embedded the video here but for some reason they have made embedding needlessly difficult so I'll go for a link instead. There's lots of corporate speak going on there, but some of you may find it interesting The top of my head is visible through 90% of [...]
