A brief history of sex in video games
An amusing & educational look at the history of sex in video games. Sex has been around in games for almost as long as game have existed. Sure, there's lot's of controversy now, but really - is it needed? There's so much more violence than sex in games, and sex is required for the survival of the human race whereas violence... isn't.
Anyway the video is by Daniel Floyd who's a student (not a professor) at Savannah College of ...
Wall-E in real life
Found a video of Wall-E on Electroplankton and am loving it. This has to be the best marketing campaign ever.
Oh - and case you've missed it. Wall-E is the latest, soon to be hit, movie from the ridiculously clever folks at Pixar.
Star Wars Animated series
My Starwars loving side has got plenty to be happy about at the moment - the Clone Wars 3d cartoons are on their way!
I absolutely adored the 2d versions (in particular the superior 2nd series) and this trailer looks like it will ignite my passion for Starwars once more... if it hasn't already.
According to the BBC the animated Clone Wars will kick off with a movie length version later this year, and then continue with a tv series. ...

New 9rules launches
9rules, the wonderful blogging network I belong too, has recently relaunched. In recent years their site has gone through various stages, becoming more and more complicated. With this version they have taken a step backwards, worked out what is important (the members... yay!) and thrown away* the rest.
In my opinion it's all turned out great, and with the new members they have added (hopefully with more to come) things can only get better.
* by "thrown away" I mean moved ...
New UK coin designs
The Royal Mint recently announced the new designs for UK coins and I'm incredibly impressed.
These coins are stunning. Obviously they look better in these photos since they're nice and clean but the designs verge on abstract whilst still keeping the shape and colours we know. Place them correctly and they (kind of) make the Royal Arms heraldry.
They're not in circulation yet but I think they're great. Much more interesting than we normally get.
Fun with Physics
There have been a couple of very cool physics toys released recently and since they're fun to play with and free (and I like this sort of thing) I thought I'd give them a mention.
Phun with PhysicsThe first was a couple of weeks ago and is called Phun with Physics. It's a wonderful free toy where you can build your own contraptions from the physics object and then release them into the world to interact with each other. You ...
Flying Penguins?
Film maker and writer Terry Jones discovers a colony of penguins, which are unlike any other penguins in the world
Ok - so it's an April fool, but it took me a little while to realise. The animation and presentation look just like a normal BBC ident/ advert/ nature program. Very high quality. Apparently there is a video showing how they made it doing the rounds as well but I have yet to see that so far. ...
