New Windows Mobile leaked… looks good
Apparently this is a genuine "leak" for the new version of Windows mobile. I have used windows mobile on old touchscreen devices and I must say, despite being a fan of pc's, I came away feeling a little dirty. It wasn't a pleasant experience. The software was clunky and cumbersome, essentially full windows, squashed up, and made more ugly (if that's even possible).
The new version of Windows mobile seems to take a lot of queues from the Iphone, with various ...
Adobe Flash art by Erik Natzke
Fellow 9ruller - Justin Ruckman - has mentioned a very funky Adobe Flash based artist on his blog, Centripetal Notion.
Erik Natzke’s generative paintings are made using Flash, sometimes from sampled photos and video and other times from scratch. He controls very specifically the environment in which his creations thrive, leaving the artwork’s specificities to the whim of the code
The pictures his software creates go far beyond the normal Flash random image generators, creating the sort of thing I ...
Speed Racer
Speed Racer is a cartoon from my childhood that I have distant memories of. My memories of the show are that it was one of the best toons ever.
It's now been turned into a feature film by the Wachowskis. I love the Matrix, V for Vendetta, and Bound and based solely upon this trailer, I think I'll love Speed Racer too. The trailer captures the super frenetic pace of the cartoon perfectly - it really is a ...
Robot Fighting
A bit of something different for the weekend - robots beating each other up. The future is now!
Spoilers...I love that the tiny robot beats the big one - bigger isn't always better The moves they pull off are pretty cool too. I just hope they don't start giving these things pointy weapons and artificial intelligence, else it'll be the start of the Terminator movies.

Saddest cubicle contest
Wired have an recently held a competition to see if they can find who has the saddest work cubicle. I'm pleased to say mine isn't too bad (technically I don't have a cubicle, but my workspace is enough for me) and is certainly nothing like the ones shown here.
Trigger Happy for free
Steven Poole, a journalist from the UK, is someones whos insight into games has always intrigued me. I used to be a regular reader of Edge magazine, a UK gaming journal that catered for the more mature gamer. Edge tended to steer away from the childish stereotypes and over the top-ness of many gaming magazines, instead they tended to have more insightful features and reviews, never fearing to be honest - in a critical way. Occasionally they were rather ...
Minority Report a reality?
Q. What do you get if you cross a Nintendo Wii, with an LED array? A. A scene from Minority Report... in your own home.
There's not much to write about here - it's all explained in the video below.
I would love to have something like this on the Wii for real. I'm surprised they managed to get two points, multi input, working as well. I'd have thought that needed ...
