Vote for me at the Webbys… please
Ok - technically I'm not up for a Webby but the company I work for, Miniclip, is up for an award.
We're clearly the best company in the games category so head on over there and show your support
We won the peoples voice last year but there wasn't much competition, this year we're up against Star Wars Galaxies and Disney's Toon Town, both very big companies with a lot of dedicated users.
Another World – re-release
Eric Chahi, best known for his 1991 video game Another World, is back with a new game... Another World!
Tomorrow (the 14th of April) Another World is going to be re-released on his website AnotherWorld.fr. I don't speak much French so don't really understand what is going on. Essentially the game has been updated for a windows based computer, with new graphics (the graphics in the old version were truly amazing, especially considering the technical limitations of the ...
First Nintendo Revolution screenshots?
Apparently the May issue of Game Informer magazine has a whole stack of information about the upcoming console, the Nintendo Revolution (they still haven't told us the REAL name). Anyway amongst this info is a preview of Ubisofts first game for the console, Red Steel. Being a big Nintendo fan and a big Ubisoft fan I can't help but feel a little excited by these images. Yes they're dodgy scans from a magazine but they look very cool.
The ...
Paint with Bob Ross – video game
Bob Ross isn't very big in England. In fact I only heard about him recently from a (Swedish of all things) friend of mine.
From wikipedia:
[Bob Ross] was the host of The Joy of Painting, perhaps the most recognized, most watched art program in the history of U.S. television.
The thing that interests me though is that recently it was announced that there would be some Bob Ross video games coming to the PC and new Nintendo consoles. The unique ...
Zelda Fan Film Trailer
I have watched a fair few fan films, generally from theforce.net (which appears to be down at the moment). With the exception of a couple of Star Wars ones they're generally pretty rubbish. Today I found out about a new fan film based on Zelda. The trailer is really rather good, especially considering the total lack of budget. Watch out for the slightly dodgy wigs, and special effects, but otherwise it looks very promising. Here's hoping there is ...
Casual Games can help your mental health
I have mentioned this before, but feel it is important enough to keep repeating
Unfortunately the article linked to in the last post has been turned into a pay to view thing, which even the glorious bugmenot can't sort out, but this new article from Yahoo! talks about things from a slightly different perspective.
The study cataloged research papers and media stories about cognitive exercise. According to the report, research indicates that people who maintain “healthy cognitive loads†like ...
I’ve been interviewed!
I was recently interviewed by a new video games blog, Foogaming. They concentrated on my work as an independent developer with my games site binary sun.
They're a really nice lot over there and are posting lots of news about the gaming world. If you're interested in reading a bit more about me and my games you can head on over and check out the interview.
