Wall-E from Pixar

October 16, 2007 | Videos, Links

The similarities with Johnny 5 are obvious but I don’t care - and I always loved that film (Short Circuit) anyway.

I also think that Pixar are one of the best film studios in the world. Their movies have a sense of heart and feeling that others can’t touch.

More info on Wall-E is available at IMDB.

Incredible Machine

I’ve seen a few of these before but never one as long and complex as this. I can’t imagine the patience it must have taken to put it all together.

Inspirational speech

October 8, 2007 | Videos, Links

This has done the rounds a bit lately but it really is inspirational so I had to publish it again. A US Computer Science professor, Randy Pausch has recently completed one of his last lectures (maybe THE last). He has a terminal illness, with only a few months left to live, and talks openly about how he feels. You have to see it to understand but it really is inspiring stuff. The things this man has accomplished are amazing, and he has no regrets. I hope one day I can say something similar… but I doubt it will be anything like this.

I’ve had some issues with the video not displaying, so if you can’t see it then watch it on the Wall Street Journal website.

I’m inspired!

A Lego production line building Lego cars

August 22, 2007 | Videos, Links

A Lego machine that makes Lego machines? Genius!

I loves me some Lego, and this production line that creates Lego cars is fabulous. I’m amazed that someone would spend the time creating Lego that builds Lego - and in this scale.

Note the way they chose the colour of the parts at the start of the clip. It’s a little slow so you may want to fast forward occasionally, but I think it’s great. Makes me want to buy the Lego Mindstorms even more now!

Legend of Zelda Symphony

July 5, 2007 | Videos, Video Games

My love of Zelda extends to the music.I do actually have a Zelda album on CD. I got it on the cover of a magazine a couple of years ago, but this music is wonderful. Hearing the overland theme is so stirring it’s indescribable.

I’ve watched this at least 10 times now. Wonderful!
