Bubble Game Name..?

I need to come up with a name for my bubble game. It’s been too long without and now that everything else is complete a name and logo are needed.

I’m not very good at coming up with names. Sometimes they just come to me in a flash of inspiration (I like it when that happens) but generally I have to spend quite some time trying to think of something that sounds cool.

In my mind an ideal name is one that is short and easy to remember, yet gives you some clue as to what it represents. That’s the problem I’m having with bubble game.

How to choose a name

When I’m stuck I normally jot down a few ideas for words that represent the thing I’m naming and then break out the thesaurus. After I’ve made a list of potential words I’ll try them in different combinations until something feels right. This hasn’t helped with bubble game so I’m at a bit of a loss.

Looking for help I asked one of my beta testers who came back with a far better list that I could make, I’ve cherry picked the best of his suggestions and they’re listed below.

• Break Away
• Bubble Blast
• Ball Breaker
• Out Burst
• Bubble Puzzle
• Strung Out
• Bubble Blitz
• Bust Up
• Sphere Strike
• Stranded (as in strands of ball\bubbles)
• Ball Sorts (as in All Sorts)
• Splat! (To flatten out)
• Balls! (Good for getting peoples attention)
• Bubble Or Bust

I think I will go with the simplicty of Bubble Burst or Bubble Blitz, but I wanted to distance myself from the game this is based on, Bubble Bomb, so just can’t decide…

I’d love to hear if anyone has a preference from the options above, or even if they have an idea for a different name?
